Whew, child. Pastor Patrick Wooden did not hold back! And honestly, somebody had to say it.
"According to Scripture, the role of an Elder is a sacred and serious calling. It’s not just about age or tenure, but about spiritual maturity, integrity, leadership, and service. As we prayerfully consider those God is raising up, we look to His Word as our guide—not tradition, popularity, or preference. May the Lord reveal and confirm who He has set apart for such a time as this."
“This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you—if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers… He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.” - Titus 1:5–9 (ESV)
He claimed Jesus was out of order 85% of the time, and that He did what His natural father wanted—but not what He was called to do. Wait, what? Last I checked, Jesus’s natural father is God.
The Word says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” (John 1:14). Jesus was God incarnate, born of a virgin, sent to save the world from sin (John 3:16). So where are we getting this from?
Pastor Wooden, known for his bold stance on biblical truth, lit up the pulpit—and rightfully so. He addressed Jamal Bryant’s comments head-on, calling it what it was: strange doctrine. We’re living in a time when people are more interested in moments than in the message.
Jamal, it seems, has made a ministry out of going viral, stirring controversy with statements that blur the line between revelation and outright confusion.
Who remembers when he said this:
Ummmm back to the word.
It’s not funny, but it is a moment. A moment that should sober us. Because when a pastor who has been serving as long as Jamal has, and with a major platform misrepresents Jesus like this, people get led astray.
That’s not just controversial—it’s dangerous. But it could also be a cry for help. Maybe Pastor Jamal Bryant is crying out because he needs our prayers. It’s like the kid that’s trying to get his parents attention.
Pastor Jamal, watch it. Don’t let charisma carry you where character won’t keep you. We get it—you know how to trend. But please, don’t trend your way into heresy. The same people who cheer you on in your moments will not be the ones answering to God for your message.
Come back to sound doctrine, Jamal. Come back to reverence. Come back to truth.
We’re praying for you.
Scripture to Reflect On:
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers.”
—2 Timothy 4:3
Let’s all start praying for Pastor Jamal Bryant, we don’t want to loose him. Jamal time to get back rooted in the word.
