In what can only be described as one of the most bizarre news stories of the week, a man found himself behind bars after calling the police to complain that his drug dealer didn’t deliver his narcotics as promised.
According to police reports, the man—whose name has not been released—dialed 911 to report what he claimed was "theft."
He told dispatchers that he had paid his dealer for drugs but never received them. In a stunning display of honesty (and poor judgment), he proceeded to explain the entire transaction, even giving officers the dealer’s phone number and address.
When police arrived, they quickly realized they didn’t need to look very far to make an arrest. The man was promptly taken into custody for possession of illegal substances, which were found on him during the investigation.
Authorities are using the incident as a reminder that, yes, drug deals are illegal—and no, calling the police to settle disputes over them won’t end well.
The dealer? He’s reportedly under investigation too. But it’s safe to say the “customer” won’t be leaving a Yelp review anytime soon.
Moral of the story: If you're out here making bad life decisions, at least don’t call the cops to complain about the customer service.
