Comedian and actor Eddie Griffin recently stirred up conversation when he suggested that a mandatory DNA test should be required before any man is placed on child support. His proposal? Before a court can assign financial responsibility to a father, biological proof should be established—no exceptions.
And honestly? I personally agree with him.
This isn’t about throwing shade at mothers or questioning anyone’s character—it's about clarity.
I believe mandatory testing clears up any confusion from the start. Too many stories have surfaced about men who later discover the child they’ve been financially and emotionally supporting isn’t biologically theirs. That kind of betrayal cuts deep—not just financially, but mentally and emotionally.
Griffin’s point is that paternity fraud is real, and the current system doesn’t do enough to protect men from it. A simple DNA test at birth could prevent years of pain, confusion, and courtroom drama.
Of course, I understand why some people may feel offended or insulted by the idea. Not every woman lies. Not every situation is messy. But this isn’t about calling anyone a liar—it’s about ensuring that everyone involved knows the truth from the beginning. Isn’t that what’s best for the child too?
Child support isn’t just money—it’s legal accountability for a long period of time. So before the courts step in and assign life-altering responsibilities, why not make sure the facts are correct? If we require proof before punishment in every other legal area, why not this one?

Eddie Griffin may be a comedian, but what he said isn’t a joke. It’s a conversation worth having—and one I fully support.
What do you think?
Would a mandatory DNA test protect families—or create more drama? Let’s talk about it in the comments.
